stavn leaves Astralis and returns to the game

After several months of silence, Danish player Martin "stavn" Lund announced that he is leaving Astralis and is ready to return to esports.

He recalled that in December 2021 his older brother took his own life. Instead of taking a break, stavn threw himself into practice and official matches, hiding the pain behind success on the server.

With stavn, HEROIC won titles at BLAST Premier Spring and Fall, reached the final of IEM Rio Major and consistently made it to the late stages of big tournaments. The player made the Top 20 Players of the Year four years in a row, taking ninth place in 2023.

After moving to Astralis in November 2023, his previous form was gone: a rating of about 1.06 over 285 maps, internal role conflicts and growing burnout.

In August, stavn decided to take a break and began therapy. Now, according to him, he has recovered, and Astralis has terminated his contract early so that he can start a "new project" and soon return to the server.
